Jason Brannen

Jason has been gaming since Jeremy Verdusco introduced him to Dungeons and Dragons in 4th grade back in 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan. Since that time Jason has played everything from camp comedy rpg's such as Ghostbusters and Teenagers from Outer Space to serious "fate of the world" type games in AD&D and Shadowrun. Along the way he has also sampled computer gaming and tabletop wargaming.

He attended his first sci-fi convention in 1987 which was Sci-Con 9 held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was intoxicated by everything that was going on. He returned next year and it was at this Sci-Con that he was introduced to Live Action Role Playing games in the form of "The Reunification Conspiracy", a sci-fi space conference to select the next galactic president. His involvement with LARPs grew as he got his driver's license and was able to attend more and more cons as well as more and more larps.

Jason chose to go to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. for college and this is where he met more and more "serious" gamers than he ever had before. Becoming active in the Science Fiction/Fantasy Guild (SFFG) immediately, he helped run the very first Madicon held in the spring of 1992, ran several table-top rpgs, and 3 larps using the 1st edition Masquerade boxed set. Moving back to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1999, he hooked up with One World by Night in July 2000.

Jason's involvement with Vampire: the Masquerade began almost as soon as the game was published. He spied the spiffy cover and interesting title on the shelf of a gaming store on January 2nd, 1992. Quickly digesting the basics, he began running preludes, found the just formed vampire mailing list (where he has lurked off and on since) and became acknowledged as the local guru on anything vampire related.

Jason first encountered Vampire and larp together at EveCon 9 where he was part of the official White Wolf play test for the Mind's Eye Theatre system entitled "...By Dawn's Early Light". Signing up too late to be a vampire, he was one of a number of mortal gangs in the game. Using his connections, he hooked up with the Giovanni but ended up going through Sabbat Creation Rites before Saturday's dawn. His career as the Sabbat Conniver was brief as he died plunging out of a 14th floor window trying to escape the Camarilla elders breaking in through the front door of the communal haven.

Within One World by Night, Jason has played the character Ice, the Ventrue Sidney Inious, and Jax Fate/Jeremy Verdusco.
